Accepted Answer

Yes, with an important caveat. NyayaVeda's Deterministic Post-Processor cross-verifies every cited case name, year, and section against 400K+ indexed SC/HC judgments before the response is delivered. Hallucinated citations are tagged [UNVERIFIED] — only confirmed corpus matches reach you. Final verification against official court records before filing is the advocate's responsibility, as required by Bar Council norms.

Question 2

How does the automatic IPC / CrPC → BNS / BNSS / BSA 2023 mapping work?

Accepted Answer

The engine contains a 1,162-row Statute Concordance Map. When you query using an old section number (e.g. S.302 IPC), the engine retrieves results mapped to the corresponding BNS section (S.101 BNS) and cites both provisions simultaneously — no manual cross-referencing needed. The engine also applies the correct act based on offence date: pre-1 July 2024 uses IPC/CrPC/IEA; post-1 July 2024 uses BNS/BNSS/BSA.

What do TIER 1, TIER 2, and TIER 3 confidence ratings mean?

Accepted Answer

Every NyayaVeda response carries a confidence tier. TIER 1 (High Confidence) means the answer is grounded in directly matching, authoritative indexed sources. TIER 2 (Medium Confidence) means the answer is supported but some citations are peripheral or from lower courts — treat with additional scrutiny. TIER 3 (Insufficient Evidence) means the engine found no reliable grounding and refuses to answer rather than guess. TIER 3 is correct behaviour — not a failure.

Can I query in Hindi? What languages are supported?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Hindi in Devanagari script is fully supported — the engine detects it automatically and responds in Hindi with English case citations (the format lawyers expect). Voice input supports 12 Indian languages. Note: transliterated Roman Hindi (e.g. 'agrim jamanat') is treated as English — type in Devanagari or English for best results.

How recent are the judgments? How often is the database updated?

Accepted Answer

The corpus runs a nightly ingestion job. New SC and HC judgments published the previous day are fetched and indexed automatically. Typical lag is 12–36 hours after a court publishes. Same-day emergency orders are not available until the next morning's sync.

Question 6

Can I upload PDFs — FIRs, chargesheets, contracts, court orders?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The document engine supports 5 analysis modes: QA mode, deep clause-by-clause analysis, risk extraction, structured summary in English or Hindi, and document comparison. Scanned PDFs are fully supported including court stamps and handwritten margins. Page limits: Free — no PDF upload, Pro — 10 pages, Ultra/Enterprise — 20 pages. Max file size: 10 MB.

Does NyayaVeda cover ITAT, NCLT, NCLAT, or NGT tribunal decisions?

Accepted Answer

Not yet — tribunal judgments (ITAT, NCLT, NCLAT, NGT) are not in the current corpus. Queries specifically about tribunal-only precedents will return TIER 3 (Insufficient Evidence) rather than hallucinate a decision. The corpus currently covers the Supreme Court of India (1950–present) and all 25 High Courts, plus 858 Central Acts. Tribunal coverage is planned for Phase 2.

Is my client data and research history secure?

Accepted Answer

Fully DPDP Act 2023 compliant. Zero-retention protocol: queries are not stored on our servers after processing. The Indian Legal NER engine automatically masks Aadhaar numbers, PAN, victim names, and party identifiers before any logging. Enterprise plan includes data residency in India (Mumbai region). Auth tokens are session-scoped and do not survive tab close.

Do you provide invoices for law firm billing?

Accepted Answer
